The Wild showcases the comic misadventures of the animals who take over the New York City Zoo when the humans go home for the night. Led and protected by a regal lion named Samson, the animals are free to wander the zoo grounds where they party, cavort, and even host nightly games of "turtle curling." But when Samson's teenage cub Ryan is accidentally whisked off to Africa in a shipping truck, he must venture into the wild to launch a daring rescue. Joined by Larry, an anaconda who's more dim-witted than deadly, Bridget, an undersized and overly-smart giraffe with a height complex, and Nigel, a sad-sack koala who's sick and tired of being "cute," Samson's quest takes them through the urban jungles of New York all the way to the wild jungles of Africa. Also along for the ride is a no-nonsense city squirrel named Benny with secret knowledge that could make their journey even more harrowing than anyone imagined.
